General Information
ADSL stands for Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Link and is a digital connection to the internet that can run up to 30 times faster than a standard modem.
There are no dial up costs because the line is connected at all times by using the frequencies above the normal voice frequency to transmit and receive data.
ADSL is only available in enabled exchanges. Currently in our local area these are Warwick, Stanthorpe and Tenterfield. There are some aditional restrictions, in that ADSL will not be available in areas currently served by pair gain systems. In order to find out whether it is available on your phone line preceed to step 1.

When applying for your ADSL service there are additional setup costs.
You will need an ADSL modem / router and filters to connect to your existing Telstra phone line. You will also need to have a Network card in your computer. HaleNET can assist you with your network setup.
